Science and Human Behavior“The presence of more than one stimulus variable in verbal behavior is sometimes dealt with as “multiple meaning.” The term is too narrow for our present purposes, for we must include contributions of strength from variables which are usually not included in the “meaning” of a response—for example, in the echoic response or the textual response to a printed word.” (p. 210)
