The principles B. F. Skinner formulated, based on experimental data and an incisive philosophical framework, provide the behaviorological foundations of scientific activity in the discipline of behavior analysis.  A number of other professional and science areas also draw from Skinner’s contingency analysis including:

The professional expertise of these disciplines contribute to the welfare of every population demographic from the child in the classroom to the soldier in the battlefield. A significant feature of the science is its ethical aspect.  B. F. Skinner vigorously advocated a civil and progressive morality for how people should be treated. Various engineering expressions of the science, for example TAG teaching and Positive Behavior Support, are based on teaching behavior and solving behavior problems through managing contingencies with positive reinforcement.  Reinforcement constitutes the most important postcedent contingency relation studied by the science.


The Foundation supports archival work that contributes to an accurate picture of the life and times of Skinner’s legacy, as well as financial awards for student research.
